Still South

An slightly melancholic Film style piece incorporating the use of acoustic piano, strings, woodwind and brass.  This contemplative track, with its beautiful string melody, could be applied as a transitional underscore in a film where the main character has to leave his family behind to join a great quest that will take him away for many years.

This track supports the Film/TV music direction we are actively developing.

Still South – has already been accepted by commercial music library companies; Yooka Music in the UK & Music Supervisors in the USA, and is part of a 60+ and growing archive of music that Lean Into the Light are actively developing.

Still South, and our most recent blog music submissions, are also available to listen to and download from the new”Box” media player in the right hand column of the blog.

This track was written, arranged and produced by Kent in June 2010

Constantinopolis

An epic sounding Film Score style track incorporating the use of vocals, classical instruments, cinematic drums and deep atmospheric synth effects.  The piece was written to convey the sense of history, greatness, wealth, power and civilization of the old city of the Ottoman Empire – Constantinople (or Constantinopolis as it was known in Roman Times).  This track edges us nicely towards the music direction we are developing most seriously and we anticipate many of our productions will take on this more cinematic feel in the coming months ahead.

Big Stone Gap

A gentle and contemporary American Country style instrumental track featuring acoustic guitar, drums, flute and electric piano.  The piece has a feel-good essence to it with a sweet melody and harmonies that perhaps the great John Denver or early Simon & Garfunkel would have produced, without the vocals of course.

Big Stone Gap – has been accepted by Yooka Music in the UK & Music Supervisors in the USA, and is part of a 50+ and growing archive of music that Lean Into the Light are actively developing.

Never too old

In one of those moments when you just get a wisp of inspiration listening to a moving piece of music, this quite atmospheric classical/orchestral composition came together for me.  The track is made up of four distinct movements whilst all contained within 4 minutes running time, so easy to listen to if you’re pushed for time.

I decided on the title of the track after someone said to me recently that “even at your age you can still do something new.”

So, considering I’m nearly 47 years old, I hope you like this piece of music and please take a moment to feed back on the blog about this or any of the tracks featured.

Swagger into the Club

The jazz like piece just came to Kent in a “funky flash of inspiration.”  We have submitted this and several others (all very different to this) to our commercial music channels (Beatpick and Yookamusic).

Hyperspace (Live)

Kent wanted to try a live performance for this track using the CS80, Polymoog and OASYS and achieves a good result with a great ambient and rhythmic piece.

Kent hopes you likes his (over 6 minute) performance and shows you the possible direction we both are heading towards, being predominately ambient electronic music.  Now sit down Kent and have a cuppa mate, you deserve it.

Above the Traffic

Inspired by memories of the daily commute by car to London some years ago and how listening to a great music track or audio book whilst driving could lift you away in a small way in your mind, but not lo0se concentration on the road.  The individual pieces of the track were all recorded live to retain that human feel which may or may not be obvious to the listener.  I hope you like his slightly longer piece and see what I was trying to achieve.
